Dual Engine Design

Power to the vacuum system is provided by a John Deere® 4045T Tier 3 Emission Compliant, 4-cylinder, turbocharged engine rated at 115 HP (86kW) @ 2400 RPM.  Reliable, powerful, and fuel efficient.

Articulating Boom Vacuum Hose

The articulating boom controls the vacuum hose and allows a full 180 degrees of boom travel and over 200 degrees of hose reach while allowing hose positioning anywhere in a 10 ft radius.  Controlled with a pendant the hydraulically articulating boom can be moved in/out, up/down, and left/right.  The vacuum hose has a 12 inch diameter - great for leaf collection, construction debris and basin cleaning

Dedicated Pump for Catch Basin Cleaning

A dedicated diaphragm jetter-style pump is separate from the optional dust control system pump.  Designed for catch basin work, the pump delivers 290 psi and 23 gpm.

Efficient Dust Suppression

Two corrosion-resistant tanks supply the jetting and sweeper dust suppression system with 335 gallons (1268 L) of water.  Optional tanks provide an additional 280 gallons (1060 L).  The water system features long-life, quick disconnect fittings.

Maximum Capacity

The Megawind offers the largest debris hopper capacity of any Elgin street sweeper.  Capacities range from 13 to 16 cubic yards.

Front Spray Bar

Cab controlled water spray bar helps settle debris under extremely dusty conditions.

Conventional Chassis

The megawind can be mounted on a commercially available conventional chassis, for value, service and parts availability.

Cab-Over UD Chassis (10 yd)

The Megawind can be mounted on a UD 3300 chassis built exclusively for Elgin and sweeping.  This cab-over chassis provides outstanding visibility, comfort, safety, and productivity.
